So today I had a chicken salad sandwich, its a delicious contraption of fruits nuts and chicken. The ingredients consisted of. Grilled Chicken Slices. Shreaded Lettuce. Tangelo Slices. Cranberries. Apple Slices Walnuts A Sweet Sauce, Tasted Citrus Based. And Two Slices of Wheat Bread. Now when I was eating this it sort of struck me, these were not local ingredients. Cranberries made a trip from Virginia, while apples came to me from Georgia, Tangelos crossed not one but three borders to reach my plate, Wheat is from the illustrious state of Kansas, and the chickens that became the slices on my plate came from Oklahoma. I've been sort of pondering this lately. Are goldfish aware that they are trapped in what is essentially a glass prison? Let us assume they have long-term memory advance enough to grasp the reality of the life they lead, how do they view us? Do they see us as prison wardens who they are dependent on for food, or possibly they see us as gods or deities. What if a goldfish is bought from a pet store a young age? does he grow up believing he is the only one of his kind? I am very proud of my drawings, Often they look like crap, bare little resemblance to what they are supposed to be and ultimately show my basic lack of hand dexterity, art skill, and Imagination. That being said, I like to think of my art in the same way a mother thinks of her very ugly baby. She knows it's ugly, Eyes droopy, nose a little crooked, missing a few fingers, but she still loves it. And I love my ugly art babies, I Will always love them and you should love them to, so ugly that its cute! Right?
